About the Library

ICAG Library is established to provide information resources needed to support the Institute’s mandate of training professional accountants of the highest quality. The Institute Library therefore has a task of:
Building collections and facilitating access to information across all formats.

Teaching users how to locate, access, and use information to meet their information needs.

Providing welcoming space that supports a full range of intellectual endeavours

The library because of its specialised purpose, maintains resources in the area of Accounting, Management, Finance, Information Technology, Business Law and other Business related subjects.

Opening Hours

Except on statutory holidays, the library shall normally be open as follows:
Monday to Friday: From 8am to 8pm
Saturdays: From 9am to 6pm
Sundays: From 11am to 6pm

OPENEING HOURS WHEN THE ACCOUNTANCY COLLEGE IS ON RECESS IS FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY FROM 8AM TO 5PM. THE LIBRARY WILL ALSO NOT BE OPENED ON WEEKENDS DURING THIS PERIOD.

LIBRARY POLICY

Membership

The Library is opened to all Members, Students and Staff of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana)
Other persons may be admitted as readers at the discretion of the Librarian. Such external readers may be required to pay an enrolment fee and a non-refundable deposit as determined by the Management of the Secretariat.
Borrowing Regulations
The library currently operates strictly as a reference library. Books and other material borrowed from the Stack Room are not allowed out of the Library Building.
Library Rules and Regulations:
1. All Patrons must appear formally dressed to use the library. Patrons in slippers, T-shirts, etc. shall not be allowed into the Library.

2. All Users are strictly required to sign-in and sign-out upon entry and exit from the library respectively.

3. Smoking, eating and drinking are not permitted in any part of the Library

4. The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the Library

5. The use of sound equipment like radios, walkmans, cell phones etc. is strictly prohibited in the library and its environs.

6. Patrons are not allowed to leave their bags overnight in the library. The library shall not take any responsibility for loss of personal properties or books already signed out to a user.

7. Seats in the library must not be reserved by a user for more than 30 minute.

8. No form of discussion is permitted in the library, outmost silence must always be observed at all time in the library and its environs.

9. Patrons are not allowed to borrow books for their friends.

LIBRARY SERVICES

The major obligation of the Institute Library is to select, acquire, process, store, retrieve and disseminate the right information at the right time to satisfy the information needs of the Institute’s Members, Students as well as Members of General Public who may be in need of such information. The specific services provided by the ICAG library are as follows:
 Access to scholarly information resources for academic and professional work.
 Collections Management.
 Book/Material Lending.
 Reference and Information Services.
 Questions and Answers Service.
 Selective Dissemination of Information.
 Current Awareness Service.
 Information Literacy Instructions.
 Learning and Research Support.
 Electronic Support (Computers, photocopying, Internet, scanning, printing etc.).
 Advisory Services on Scholarly communication, Intellectual Property, Open Access, Institutional Repository etc.
 Library Orientation/Education.
 Digitization Service.
